Tired of loose teeth? Implants have come a long way

March 10, 2015

Filed under: Dental Implants — admin @ 9:21 am

Most people will lose adult teeth during their lifetime. In the U.S., about 69 percent of adults ages 35 to 44 have lost at least one permanent tooth due to accident, a failed root canal, tooth decay or gum disease. By age 74, at least 26 percent of adults have lost permanent teeth.

According to the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, dental implants are almost always the best option for replacing them. In the past, replacements included removable dentures that rest on the gum line or fixed bridges anchored to adjacent teeth. But with dental implants, teeth are surgically implanted in the gums, giving replacement teeth a more natural feel and appearance.

In addition to looking and feeling more like natural teeth, dental implants last longer than fixed bridges and removable dentures, which last about 15 years. Implants are a permanent solution to missing teeth.

Dr. Gasper of Aesthetic Dentistry by design has invested in the advanced technology of coDiagnostiX® CT scans and 3D software. With the coDiagnostiX system, Dr. Gasper can plan a computer-guided implant process that is more precise than ever. The resulting implant placement procedure is highly accurate and minimally invasive, which is an immense benefit for our patients’ overall oral health in the short-term and for many years to come.

It isn’t known if the man found his dentures.

Dental implants can improve your smile and your life!

Are you missing a tooth, or many teeth?

Having a missing tooth replaced with a dental implant is more important than many people realize.

Over time, missing teeth can lead to decay, bone loss and numerous long-term complications.

Not only can a replacement tooth in the form of a dental implant restore a smile, it can also improve your ability to eat comfortably.

In addition, it can provide a clean and healthy oral environment to help retain remaining natural teeth in place.

For those individuals wearing dentures, dental implants can help secure them and provide you with the ability to chew food properly without worrying about your dentures loosening.

To avoid bone loss, maintain proper spacing between teeth and avoid complications associated with a variety of different oral diseases that result from a missing tooth, patients should consider having a dental implant placed.

A dental implant properly and safely fills the space of a missing tooth. Best of all, dental implants help ensure that patients maintain a healthy smile.

Dental implants can be solution to many long-term issues

June 13, 2013

Filed under: Dental Implants — admin @ 8:50 am

We found a great article about the benefits of dental implants.

From the article:

Missing teeth are nothing to smile about. Putting vanity or aesthetics aside, missing teeth can cause a number of long-term issues — including bone loss. Yet, an estimated 140 million American adults live with one or more missing teeth. Over time, missing teeth can cause the face to loose definition and have a drawn in, distorted look, caused by the loss of bone and natural shape.

With the advancements in dental Implants over the years, there’s one less reason to live with the discomfort — and potential problems — of missing teeth. Dental implants prevent additional bone loss, give bone height and add definition to the face. And, today’s dental implants are so amazing, with proper care, they can practically last forever. It’s almost impossible to tell the difference between a dental implant and the patient’s own teeth.

With dental implants, denture wearers no longer have to contend with slippage, wobbling, discomfort and in many cases, pain. Without teeth, the underlying bone deteriorates and the denture no longer fits properly.

Dental implants are the most advanced method to replace missing teeth, save bone structure and improve the quality of life for denture wearers.

Proud of your Smile: The benefits of Dental Implants

May 13, 2013

Dental implants are an ultra-secure tooth replacement solution that Dr. Gasper offers in our Colorado Springs practice. If you are missing teeth, dental implants will restore lost oral function and aesthetics, and with proper care, they can last a lifetime.

Here are other benefits of Dental Implants

Better Than Dentures

Dental implants are attached very solidly and firmly into your jaw bone, and they will not move or shift the way a dental crown might. With dental implants you can also perform your daily dental regimen just like you do with your natural teeth: brush, floss and use the mouth rinse and that’s it.

Look and Feel Younger

Dental implants can help restore the shape of your face. As you might know, missing teeth can make the cheeks fall in and then the entire face looks more saggy and gives the impression that you are older than your actual age.

What is the worst thing about dentures?

What is the worst thing about dentures?

Nearly every denture-wearer will answer this question with stories about their artificial teeth slipping and shifting. They will admit, often with embarrassment, that their dentures wobble and move in the middle of conversations or meals, making it difficult to eat or speak with confidence.

Dental implants eliminate this fear because they are anchored directly into the jawbone. This secure placement means your implants will never shift or slip, even when eating or speaking.

More people opt for longer-lasting options to replace missing teeth

March 22, 2012

7 out of 10 adults ages 35 to 44 have already lost one tooth due to accident, gum disease, or a failed root canal, according to the American Dental Association. By the time Americans reach their mid-70s, 1 out of 4 has lost all permanent teeth.

Before dental implants, the only alternatives were removable dentures or a fixed bridge, which can affect adjacent healthy teeth and often needs to be replaced after several years.

Dental implants are growing in popularity because of their long-term durability. With the aging baby boom population and advances in techniques, dental implants have exploded in use.

Dr. Ken Gasper of Aesthetic Dentistry by Design has invested in the advanced technology of coDiagnostiX® CT scans and 3D software. With the coDiagnostiX system, Dr. Gasper can plan a computer-guided implant process that is more precise than ever.

Steven Tyler’s nasty fall renews interest in dental implant technology

November 15, 2011

We found this great

Aerosmith’s front man Steven Tyler is accustomed to making headlines; but when he suffered a bad fall in Paraguay last month and found himself in need of emergency dental care, Tyler received a far less glamorous dose of media attention.

According to the Washington Post, Tyler, 63, was taken ill while on tour and fell in his hotel bathroom, sustaining significant bruising to his face and losing two front teeth.

Paraguayan dentist Dr. Maria Bastos, who treated Tyler, gave the “American Idol” judge two dental implants to restore his smile and help speed his recovery for a concert held in the capital city of Asuncion.

With the assistance of other medical professionals, Tyler went from sporting a black eye and a gap-riddled smile to smiling and appearing more or less like his usual self in a matter of days – thanks in large part to the incredible success made possible by modern
