Children’s Books About Visiting The Dentist

February 1, 2011

In honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month (February) we asked our hygienist, Yee Fong, “What are some of your favorite children’s books about visiting the dentist?

There’s a lot of great children’s books about visiting the dentist, so definitely choose one that your child can relate to. For example, if your child likes to watch Dora the Explorer or Little Bill, there are children’s books with Dora talking about her visit to the dentist.

I have a few books I personally enjoy for children:

“Going to the Dentist” by Anne Civardi

“Just Going to the Dentist” by Mercer Mayer

“What to Expect When you go to the Dentist” by Heidi Murkoff and Laura Rader

Read Yee’s tips for preparing your child for their first dental visit.

Dr. Gasper likes to have the 1st visit for  children between 2 ½ -3 years of age.
