You don’t feel like you have enough energy to prepare a meal at home, so you decide to grab a bite to eat at a local fast food restaurant. The Issue with Buns

One of the more common fast food combinations is some type of meat placed between two slices of bread or buns. This can pose a problem because of the typical usage of refined flour, which is high in sugar and can attract harmful bacteria that seek to cause tooth decay.

Lemonade

Instead of drinking lemonade, a simple glass of water is a much better option.

Fries

Also detrimental to your oral health are fries. Not only are they loaded with starches, but they also generally contain different preservatives that can erode your teeth.

Instead of fries, give a fruit cup a try. This route is friendlier to your waistline and your dental wellness.

Sodas

The sugar in a typical soda has been proven to be fattening and full of nutritionally-devoid calories. An additional problem is that it coats the enamel with acidic fluids that can wear down your teeth.

An alternative to decrease the amount of sugar you consume is to substitute fruit-infused water for sodas.

The Power of Oral Hygiene

No one is perfect, so if you choose to indulge in a fast food delight, it’s not the end of the world. However, on those rare occasions that you give in to these urgings, it’s even more important to practice excellent oral health. Around 60 minutes after eating a meal, you should brush and floss your teeth to remove any of the lingering debris.
