Health Tip: Prevent Dental Bleeding While Taking a Blood Thinner

Blood-thinning drugs are prescribed to help prevent clots that could cause heart attack or stroke.

But these drugs can also increase the risk of heavy or prolonged bleeding.

Here are 3 suggestions to help prevent dental bleeding:

 

1.  Brush with a soft-bristled toothbrush.

2.  Use waxed dental floss. 

3. Avoid using toothpicks.
