October is National Dental Hygiene Month!
The wonderful Hygienist at Aesthetic Dentistry by Design, Yee Fong, has graciously shared various tips and suggestions to celebrate healthy habits and good, healthy oral hygiene!
The theme for this Dental Hygiene Month for 2010 is “Healthy Habits are Easier than you think.”
We asked Yee, “What does that mean to you? What are some “short cuts” that patients can practice to have good, healthy habits (oral and overall)?
Creating healthy habits doesn’t only involve our mouth but involves our overall health!
It’s important to prioritize and simplify our lives by creating healthy eating habits, exercise habits and being healthy mentally as well!
Life doesn’t have to be complicated, we just need to take some small steps one day at a time to have a healthy life!
I don’t believe in “short cuts,” but I do believe in simplifying our lives to create a healthy lifestyle. As with anything else in life we just need to take a deep breath and MAKE time for ourselves!
Unfortunately, there are no short cuts to good oral health, brushing at least 2x/day (along with tongue & cheeks), flossing at least 1x/day and rinse with fluoride rinse 1x/night is key to a healthy lifestyle!
Thanks for the reminder Yee!
