Why did you get into the dental industry?
I had no dental experience but was referred by a friend for the job of sterile technician here and became really interested in dentistry. So I decided to go back to school for dental assisting.
What’s your approach to working with children?
Explain to them in fun, kid-friendly terms exactly what we are doing today. Be excited and understanding but also be firm.
What advice do you have for patients who have dental phobias?
Encourage them that they are not the only ones who feel that way and tell them we will take it slow. I also give them the options of Halcion, N2O or IV Sedation to help relax them.
Besides “Brush & floss daily” what is your favorite oral health care tip?
Use ACT mouthwash and Sonicare toothbrush.
What services, that Aesthetics Dentistry by Design offers, have you personally received?
Cleanings, fillings, and TMJ/Ortho treatment.
What foods do you avoid for your own oral health?
What is the tooth fairy tradition in your family? And/or please share a special tooth fairy childhood memory.
When I was a child I left my tooth in a special “tooth pillow” underneath my pillow and my parents gave me .50 cents for every tooth I lost.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Read, garden, spend time with friends and family, spend time outside with my husband and dogs.

Waitress at small town cafe (15 yrs old).
