Dr. Oban is a longtime resident of Colorado – in fact, he’s lived here since 1948! After attending Fountain Valley School and Colorado College, he pursued dentistry at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Upon the completion of his doctorate, he received his specialty training in periodontics from the University of Minnesota. Following graduation, he taught in the Department of Periodontics at UCLA for nearly 12 years before returning to live in Colorado Springs and starting his own specialty practice. He has been surgically placing dental implants since 1974 and is a member of the following dental organizations:
Dr. Orban has been passionate about continuing education throughout the course of his career, completing countless advanced courses at several world-renowned institutions and events. Some highlights include the following:
When he isn’t busy at work, Dr. Orban’s recreational interests include hiking/backpacking/camping, climbing (he’s completed all the 14’ers), biking, scuba diving, and traveling with his wife. He is also passionate about giving back and even started a volunteer dental project called The Children’s International Dental Project ( www.dentalvolunteers.com). This organization provides important services to needy children in orphanages, hospitals, and on the streets in Nepal. In the past, he has led groups all over the world, including Nepal, Samoa, India, Bhutan, Sikkim, Africa, Ecuador, Argentina, and St. Vincent’s.
