Why Choose Aesthetic Dentistry By Design for Sedation Dentistry?

Nitrous Oxide Dental Sedation

Nitrous Oxide, also known as “Laughing Gas,” is a pain-relieving gas that is combined with oxygen to help clients feel more comfortable and relaxed during their dental treatment. A light, tingling feeling is often experienced by clients as well as an altered sense of time. Hours will virtually seem like minutes!

All clients are candidates for nitrous oxide therapy. Nitrous therapy will also reduce the gag reflex and excessive saliva flow. It can be used for all cosmetic dentistry and restorative procedures, and it's available for hygiene visits. Nitrous Oxide is non-allergenic and its effects are completely reversible within a couple of minutes.

The benefits of Nitrous Oxide are a rapid onset to reduce pain and anxiety, no lingering effects, no hangover effect, and the ability to engage in conversation during treatment. When your treatment is complete, you can even safely drive home or return to work.

Oral Conscious Sedation Dentistry: “A Reason to Dream”

We’ll give you a prescription for a sedative to take the night before treatment to guarantee a good night’s sleep and to make sure you wake up feeling relaxed. You will take one to two tiny pills before your appointment and have a companion accompany you to our dental office. Upon arrival, you will be relaxed, pain-free, and unaware of the treatment. Our experienced, caring team will monitor and care for you throughout your entire visit. When finished, you will feel like you have had the best nap of your life. It'll seem like only minutes have passed! Most clients feel no discomfort. Fortunately, sedation medications have an amnesic effect. That means you’ll have very little, if any, memory of the sights, smells, or sounds of your visit. You may be a bit wobbly, so your companion will need to take you home and stay with you until you’ve completely recovered.

You’ll be amazed at how much can be accomplished in such a seemingly short period of time, while you were totally relaxed… and completely comfortable.

IV Dental Sedation

IV sedation

Intravenous sedation is also known as IV or “conscious sedation.” IV sedation is a safe, precise, and highly effective technique for the management of moderate to more severe dental fear. A major benefit of some IV drugs is amnesia and a comparatively quick recovery time. Most clients will not remember most, or even all, of the dental treatment. Patients often think they are asleep and have no memory of the procedure but can respond to the dentist when necessary.

At Aesthetic Dentistry by Design, IV sedation is administered and monitored by a physician anesthesiologist, optimizing the safety of the procedure.
